Volunteer Blood Donor Dogs Needed
Occasionally, blood needs to be given to anemic or injured dogs and cats. Dog blood can be stored for several weeks in the refrigerator, but we need to keep a supply and have donor dogs available when we run short of blood. Dogs must be healthy, fully vaccinated, and heartworm free.
Cat blood cannot be stored, so cat blood donors need to be available on demand. Cats must be vaccinated including a negative Feline Leukemia/FIV test.
